For Immediate Release

Hanover, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce the expansion of its Hanover office with the addition of seven new hires, including two well-respected attorneys in the market from the firm of Guthrie, Nonemaker, Yingst & Hart LLP.

Barley Snyder has added longtime Hanover-area attorneys Keith R. Nonemaker and Matthew L. Guthrie to the office, bringing with them more than 75 years of experience. Both are Hanover natives and Spring Grove Area High School alumni, and both have practiced in the Hanover area their entire legal careers.

Army veteran Nonemaker has more than 42 years of experience as an attorney. He will join the firm’s Personal Planning and Real Estate practice groups. Nonemaker’s practice is primarily in the area of real estate, including commercial and residential property transactions, and the area of wills and estates, including estate planning and estate administration. He also spent 35 years as the solicitor for South Western School District.

Guthrie has practiced in the Hanover area since his law school graduation in 1985, and will join the firm’s Real Estate, Personal Planning and Business practice groups. His practice includes real estate, wills and estates, business law, and family law matters.

Both Nonemaker and Guthrie are licensed real estate title insurance agents with extensive practices in commercial and residential real estate closings.

Nonemaker and Guthrie are bringing with them their current, experienced staff of two paralegals and three support professionals.

“It is important that we maintain the continuity of quality representation for our clients and we are maintaining all of our current staff to ensure this happens,” Guthrie said. “However, we will now also have the considerable resources and expertise of Barley Snyder to offer a broader range of services and expertise to our clients. We are already very familiar with Barley Snyder’s high-quality and broad range of services having worked with their local attorneys dating back several decades. We believe our move to become part of Barley Snyder will allow us to continue to serve our clients as we have in the past with little change except that we will now be able to provide our clients with a broader range of legal services.”

Barley Snyder’s Hanover office at 14 Center Square is currently undergoing renovations to accommodate the new group. Until then, all seven of the new Barley professionals in Hanover will continue to work from the former offices of Guthrie, Nonemaker, Yingst & Hart LLP at 40 York St. They expect to move into the current Barley Snyder office in the first quarter of 2019.

Barley Snyder managing partner Jeff Lobach said the experience the group brings in the Hanover market is impressive, and it adds to the already robust local knowledge in the Hanover office.

“Our regional model of practice is based on local knowledge in all of our offices,” he said. “Keith and Matt have as much knowledge of the community in which they practice as anyone in the Hanover and Adams County markets and are a fine addition to our team there.”
