For Immediate Release
Harrisburg, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that the Dauphin County Bar Association (DCBA) has named attorney John “J.” Quain the secretary of its Young Lawyers Section.
The DCBA is a professional organization with over 1,300 lawyers involved in various programs of public service, professional development and personal interaction, according to its website. The Young Lawyers Section was founded in 1976 and created for young lawyers to partake in social functions to spur networking opportunities.
Quain is an attorney in Barley Snyder’s Litigation and Creditors’ Rights practice groups. His practice focuses on matters including breach of contract, real estate, and landlord tenant litigation. He also represents creditors in bankruptcy matters and helps clients including contractors, corporate landlords and leasing companies on collection efforts. Quain has held several leadership positions with the DCBA Young Lawyers Section such as social committee chair, treasurer and chair of the association’s Young Lawyer Day Committee.
“The Young Lawyers Section serves as a fundamental and valuable resource for young attorneys in the early stages of their professional careers looking to make an impact in their community,” said Quain. “I very much look forward to providing guidance and introducing them to the many benefits of the bar association.”
In addition to being active with the DCBA, Quain serves as secretary of the board of directors for the Historic Harrisburg Association. He was a recipient of the Light of Liberty Award from the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC) in 2022. The prestigious award is bestowed on an organization’s top pro bono attorney which honors an individual’s exceptional service and support. Quain actively volunteers with PIRC to help immigrants and their families receive legal assistance that would be otherwise unattainable.
