Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that the Hempfield Foundation has named Barley Snyder partner Peter J. Faben president of its board of directors.
The nonprofit organization supports the Hempfield School District’s educational mission by providing grants to the district’s faculty and staff for unique learning experiences and innovative teaching methods. In recent years, the organization has provided funding for a podcast studio in the high school, heart rate monitors for PE classes, and an artist residency for Celtic musicians, the Mari Black Trio. It also awards scholarships to graduating seniors for their post-secondary education in addition to sponsoring community events to raise funds and provide visibility for Hempfield schools.
“I am truly humbled and honored to have been chosen to serve as president of this incredible foundation,” said Faben. “It has been a pleasure to enrich the educational experiences of students within the district alongside my fellow board members. In my new role, I look forward to leading the board in its mission to further enhance educational initiatives for Hempfield students.”
Faben has served on the board since 2022 and previously served as vice president of the board before being elected to president. In addition to his involvement with the Hempfield Foundation, he is a board member of the Moravian Center Adult Day, the secretary of Advoz’s board of directors and a member of the Touchstone Foundation’s Access Committee. Faben also serves on the American Cancer Society’s Fire & Ice Event Planning Committee.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Peter assuming the role of president,” said Hempfield Foundation Executive Director Scott Bishop. “Since joining the board, he has shown outstanding leadership and demonstrated a steadfast commitment to supporting the students and staff of the Hempfield School District.”
Faben is a partner in Barley Snyder’s Health Care and Litigation groups. He focuses on the defense of health care facilities, physicians, and other health care providers in medical malpractice litigation. He also works with clients on HIPAA compliance and state regulatory proceedings. Faben and his family live in East Hempfield Township where his son attends elementary school in the district.
