Harrisburg, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that the Historic Harrisburg Association has named attorney John “J.” Quain the secretary of its board of directors.

The association is a nonprofit, charitable and educational organization that advocates for the restoration, preservation and proper stewardship of historic neighborhoods and landmarks throughout the Capital Region to enable current and future generations to retain and celebrate Harrisburg’s rich history, according to its website.

The group named Quain to its board of directors in 2019.

“In my year at the Historic Harrisburg Association, I’ve learned so much about our city and its past,” Quain said. “Preserving our past in a responsible manner improves the quality of life for everyone in the city. I’m proud to be part of this association that partners with other city groups to make sure we don’t lose that history forever.”

A Harrisburg native, Quain is an attorney in the Barley Snyder Litigation and Finance & Creditors’ Rights practice groups. He came to the firm in 2018 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as a part of the Office of General Counsel within the governor’s office.

In addition to his work with the Historic Harrisburg Association, Quain is the chair of the Dauphin County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Social Committee. He also served as 2019 chairman for the Dauphin County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Law Day Committee.
