For Immediate Release
York, Pa. – Barley Snyder attorney Martin R. Siegel has satisfied all requirements in his home state of Maryland, and is now admitted to the Maryland bar to practice law in the state. Siegel has been practicing environmental law in Pennsylvania for several decades.
Siegel, who was sworn in to the bar during a virtual session, is the chair of the firm’s COVID-19 Response Service Team and is based in Barley Snyder’s York office. The firm has made an effort to have more attorneys be admitted to practice in Maryland as more of its clients from York County and the southcentral Pennsylvania area expand south on the Interstate 83 Corridor below the Mason-Dixon Line.
The firm has two offices in Maryland, in Hunt Valley and in Columbia, and has five attorneys admitted to practice in Maryland.
“Being admitted to the bar in Maryland is something that I’ve been dedicated to working toward,” Siegel said. “With the northern Maryland market thriving, it’s important for our firm’s clients to know they won’t have to change attorneys just because they’re doing business in another state.”
Siegel is also a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and the Environment & Energy and Health Care industry groups. He also is a member of the firm’s Crisis Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service teams. Siegel is also a trained mediator.
He is a member of the board of directors at the Chesapeake Legal Alliance and the Water Science Institute, and is a member of the Pennsylvania Sewage Advisory Committee, which is part of the Department of Environmental Protection. Siegel is also a contributor to the recent 10th edition of Pennsylvania Environmental Law and Practice, as he co-authored the chapter on “Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act.”
