For Immediate Release
Malvern, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that partner Salvatore Anastasi has been named the treasurer and member of the board of directors of the American Intellectual Property Association (AIPLA).
The AIPLA is a national bar association with more than 13,500 members in private and corporate practice, in government service and in the academic community, according to its website. The organization was founded in 1897 to maintain a high standard of professional ethics within the niche practice area of law.
Anastasi has been very active at the national level with the AIPLA. He has been a board member and a member of many of its committees, a former chair of the Public Education Committee and a former chair of the Law Practice Management Committee. He is also an AIPLA Fellow. Currently, he is a member of the organization’s Patent Harmonization Task Force, which strives to improve both procedural and substantive patent rules/laws around the world.
“The AIPLA is a driving force in the global intellectual property system, which promotes innovation and encourages investment in research,” Anastasi said. “Working with the group for years and seeing the progress we’ve made in bringing the intellectual property law community together to maintain balance, drive and needed change has been very gratifying. I am honored to continue my work with the AIPLA and to help guide its future.”
Anastasi is the chair of Barley Snyder’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, which includes seven patent attorneys. In addition to the national work he does with the AIPLA and the American Bar Association’s intellectual property sections, he is also a board member at the Chester County Bar Foundation and the Chester County Bar Association.
