Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that partner David Freedman has been named the president-elect of the Lancaster Bar Association’s Board of Directors.

Freedman will serve as president-elect in 2020, then move to the president of the board in 2021.

Freedman has been the association’s vice president twice, in 2015 and 2019. The association has over 700 members, who are attorneys, judges and law students. According to its website, the association promotes competence, ethics and collegiality in the legal profession, provides service to the public, and advocates for the fair administration of justice in Lancaster County.

“The bar association is a great benefit to the public, with its pro bono programs, focus on civic engagement, and its continuing education sessions for attorneys,” Freedman said. “Having the chance to lead this group is a privilege, and I am happy to help guide the association’s future.”

Freedman is a member of the Barley Snyder Employment Practice Group, as well as the Employment Litigation, Immigration, and Education groups. He also is part of the firm’s Hospitality and Food & Agribusiness industry groups. In 2019, the York-based Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center named him Pro Bono Attorney of the Year, the second time he received the award.
