Lancaster, Pennsylvania. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that Partner Paul G. Mattaini has received the Champion for Women Award (Affiliate Member) from the Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PA Bankers).
PA Bankers recently announced its Women in Banking Recognition of Excellence Awards at its annual Women in Banking Conference held in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The conference provides women in the banking industry with networking and professional development opportunities. The Champion for Women Award (Affiliate Member) is given to an experienced male or female professional who ceaselessly promotes and inspires women in the workplace to reach their full potential.
“This recognition is certainly appreciated, most importantly because it shines a light on the women I have had the pleasure of working with and admire. It is also humbling as the concept of empowerment has always been important to me, and it is nice to know that I have succeeded in my own small way. While we still have room to improve, things have changed for the better in terms of the role of women in banking,” said Mattaini. “I have enjoyed working with and mentoring so many talented women, and it is fulfilling to see them succeed; as just one example, my colleague Kim Decker is now one of the leading bank regulatory, M&A and securities lawyers in our markets. I have personally had the benefit of great mentors during my career, and I encourage others to mentor and promote others so that we can keep the momentum going.”
With more than 30 years of experience, Mattaini concentrates his law practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities, banking and business. In his banking practice, he represents large, regional financial institutions and community banks. His deep knowledge of the financial services industry and extensive bank regulatory experience allow him to “add value” in his work for institutions in the industry.

Mattaini has received notable recognitions during his career, including an “AV Preeminent” Martindale-Hubbell rating and being named to The Best Lawyers in America® list over the years in the areas of M&A, Banking and Finance Law, Corporate Law and Securities/Capital Markets Law. In 2020, he was named Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” for Banking and Finance Law. Outside of the firm, Mattaini serves on the board of directors for the Goodwill Keystone Area Foundation, and on committees for the Goodwill Capital Campaign in Lancaster and The Janus School.
