Malvern, Pa. – Barley Snyder partner and Intellectual Property Practice Group Chair Salvatore Anastasi has been elected President-Elect of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Established in 1876, the AIPLA is a national bar association that represents a variety of individuals from law firms, companies, and institutions involved in patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition law and other fields of law affecting intellectual property. With nearly 8,000 members, the association works to provide education and support for intellectual property professionals while advocating for IP laws and policies within the United States and internationally. The AIPLA is one of the largest intellectual property associations in the world.
Anastasi has been affiliated with the AIPLA since 1997, serving in various leadership roles. Prior to his current position, he served as First Vice President of the association where he was tasked with leading the AIPLA Strategic Plan, Annual Meeting, and Spring Meeting. In addition, Anastasi previously served as Second Vice President from 2022-2023, Treasurer from 2019-2022, and as a board member since 2014.

Anastasi is a patent attorney and the chair of Barley Snyder’s Intellectual Property Practice Group with nearly 30 years of legal experience. He advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property, including domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution and intellectual property litigation. He works with clients ranging in size from small family businesses to large, multi-national companies, in a wide variety of industries. Anastasi was recently named a “Top Lawyer” in intellectual property law by Main Line Today in its 2024 edition. In addition to his involvement with the AIPLA, he serves as secretary of the Brandywine Regional Airport.
