Malvern, Pa. – Students aren’t the only ones who can study abroad.
Barley Snyder attorney Kevin Myhre, an attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, is preparing for a four-week trip to Munich, Germany, to help him understand first-hand the differences between US and European patent practice.
Myhre will be working with Grünecker, a Munich-based intellectual property firm ranked among the highest patent filers in Germany.
“It’s a strong credit to Barley Snyder that I am being given this very unique opportunity,” he said. “It’s one that I know will provide invaluable experience in learning and improving our European patent work for clients by working with the knowledgeable attorneys and professionals at Grünecker.”
During his time in Germany, Myhre will be writing several blog posts about his work there and will record video clips of the experience. To share the experiences with the public, follow Facebook.com/KevinMyhreInGermany. There will also be postings of Kevin’s trip at Barley.com/News-Events.
Salvatore Anastasi, the chair of Barley Snyder’s IP Practice Group, has worked with Grünecker for years in developing the exchange program, since Barley first hosted a Grünecker attorney at its Malvern office to learn about US patent practice. Anastasi said the experience Myhre will garner can only help his practice when he returns to Malvern.
“It’s going to give him a greater depth of practice when it comes to international patent protection,” he said. “It’s a remarkable opportunity for him, and I know he’ll take full advantage of it.”
Myhre recently graduated from the Leadership Chester County program, a professional development and service engagement opportunity. A few weeks after graduation, he was named to the executive board of the Chester County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
