Barley Snyder’s Mixell Named to Reading-Area Foundation Board

. – Barley Snyder is proud to announce its partner Michael L. Mixell has been named to the board of directors at the Berks County Community Foundation, one of the most successful nonprofit corporations in the Reading area.

Mixell has worked with the foundation for years both professionally and on a volunteer basis. The group has honored him on multiple occasions at the “Door Opener Society,” which recognizes members of the community that have referred donation sources to the foundation. He’s also a member of the foundation’s Franklin Society, whose members have named the foundation in their personal wills and/or trusts.

“The Berks County Community Foundation is an organization I believe is making a true difference in Reading and around the Berks County region,” Mixell said. “Both the organization and I are firm believers in the future of Reading and the economic impact that a strategic, planned charitable effort can have on the region. Groups like the foundation are integral in the future viability of Berks County and it’s an honor to serve on the foundation’s board.”

Berks County Community Foundation is a nonprofit corporation that serves as a civic leader for our region by developing, managing and distributing charitable funds aimed at improving the quality of life in Berks County. More information is available at www.bccf.org.

Mixell is a member of the firm’s BusinessPersonal Planning and Finance & Creditor’s Rights practice groups. He has been named to the “Best Lawyers in America” list compiled by U.S. News & World Report for five consecutive years in the Trust & Estates practice area. He has also volunteered his time to other charitable organizations in Berks County, and is a current board member for Prospectus Berco, which is dedicated to inspiring people with disabilities or other special needs to lead meaningful lives by providing innovative services that promote dignity and respect.
