For Immediate Release
Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder attorney Joseph P. Schalk of Mechanicsburg has been named to the board of directors at Open Stage of Harrisburg, the capital area’s oldest professional regional theater.
Schalk and his family have been involved with the theater company in the past, as his wife Kathleen Mullen formerly served on the theater’s board. Schalk now joins the 21-person board.
“I have always been a big supporter of the arts,” Schalk said. “My wife and I were introduced to Open Stage when we moved to the capital region 10 years ago and have immensely enjoyed the theater’s productions. Open Stage is a vital player in the Harrisburg area arts scene and is deserving of our support. It’s a joy to be working in this capacity with the board now.”
Schalk is Of Counsel in Barley Snyder’s Finance & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. A Beasley School of Law at Temple University graduate, Schalk’s practice includes consumer and commercial collections and related bankruptcy work. He is a past president of the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association.
The theater opened in 1983 and has been located in the Walnut Street Parking Garage in downtown Harrisburg since 1992. The theater is in its 31st season and will announce the shows selected for its 32nd season on April 25.
