Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that attorney Daniel M. Frey has been named the president of the Hanover Public Library Association Inc.
Frey was elected to the organization’s board of directors in 2017, and this is the first time he’s been named president of the board. The association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which promotes and stimulates library interest among members and people in Hanover, supports literary and educational undertakings and renders assistance in the building, equipping and maintaining of Hanover’s Guthrie Memorial Library, part of the York County Libraries system. The association oversees a substantial endowment fund which enables it to contribute to the library to enhance its operations and programs.
The library is located at 2 Library Place in the borough.
“We have one of the county’s best libraries,” Frey said. “It needs stewards to make sure it remains a source of pride for the community, not just today, but for generations to come. It’s a great honor to be chosen to help guide the library’s future.”
Frey is a former assistant district attorney in York County and a former past president of the board of directors of the York County Bar Association. He is active in other community groups in Hanover, including as the vice chairman of the board of directors of Main Street Hanover Inc. He is a past president of the board of directors of the Hanover Area YMCA and currently serves on the board of trustees for the Hanover Area YMCA.
Frey practices in Barley Snyder’s Business, Finance & Creditors’ Rights, Personal Planning and Real Estate practice groups, as well as the Municipal & Municipal Authority and Food & Agribusiness industry groups. He was managing partner of Barley Snyder from 2003 to 2008.
