Barley Snyder, a law firm of more than 130 attorneys, has an excellent opportunity for a Receptionist/Patent Assistant in our Malvern, PA office. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years’ prior experience in a legal setting. In this position, you will answer and direct incoming calls; greet visitors; attend to general office matters and mail; train in all aspects of USPTO, PCT and foreign filings; prepare correspondence with clients and foreign agents; and manage various projects as assigned.
The following experience and abilities are not required, but preferred: Basic knowledge of latest issues/trends regarding U.S. and foreign patent office procedures; knowledge and understanding of USPTO rules and regulations; preparing patent/trademark office filings and patent/trademark prosecution documents.
You must be a self-starter with problem solving abilities, excellent communication and organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Must also have the ability to multi-task and prioritize, work well both independently and as a team member. Excellent software skills as well as excellent grammar proofreading, and English composition skills.
