For Immediate Release
Lancaster, Pa. – Barley Snyder is pleased to announce that partner Katherine Betz Kravitz has transitioned into a new role as chair of the firm’s Health Law Industry Group.
Kravitz succeeds partner Chris Churchill, who stepped down from the post to concentrate on Barley Snyder’s new Senior Living Industry Group. Churchill is the chair of that group, which formed earlier this year.
The Health Law Industry Group works with clients such as hospitals, medical groups, health plans, physicians, medical malpractice insurers, pharmacies, nursing homes, diagnostic imaging centers and other clients within the medical field to serve their increasingly complex legal needs.
“Our group is unique because we view every new problem or case as an opportunity for improvement of patient care and avoidance of future risk, something which is very important to our clients. Our primary goal is to help health care providers avoid litigation,” Kravitz said. “Chris did great work as the chair of this group and with our workload growing, I’m proud to be part of guiding the group’s future.”
Churchill said that Kravitz’s wealth of experience and genuine commitment to our health care clients makes her a natural choice for leading one of Barley Snyder’s busiest industry groups.
“I have no doubt that Kathy will be a dynamic, innovative leader for the group,” he said. “She’s proven countless times that she is ready for this position on day one.”
Kravitz is a member of the board of directors for the American Heart Association in Lancaster, the United Way Women’s Council, the Child Health and Welfare Committee of Lancaster Osteopathic Health Foundation and a past board president of the Mental Health Association in Lancaster.
