York, Pa. – Barley Snyder Managing Partner Jeffrey D. Lobach has been elevated to chairman of the board for York County-based WellSpan Health’s York Health Foundation.
The York Health Foundation is a community-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of the local community by supporting the York area entities of WellSpan Health. The York facilities include WellSpan York Hospital, WellSpan Surgery & Rehabilitation Hospital and WellSpan VNA Home Care. The foundation recently completed raising $3 million toward the construction of a new emergency department at WellSpan York Hospital and is considering options for its next fundraising campaign.
WellSpan has three other foundations – one each based in Ephrata, Gettysburg and Lebanon – to support WellSpan facilities, services and programs in those regions.
WellSpan Health is an integrated health system with more than 1,200 physicians that serves the communities of central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. The organization includes advanced practice clinicians, a home care organization, six hospitals, more than 15,000 employees and more than 130 patient care locations.
“I’m a big believer in WellSpan’s regional health system concept,” Lobach said. “WellSpan Health is an important component of each community it serves, and the foundations, including the York Health Foundation, are vital to the success of that overall WellSpan mission of exceptional care, lifelong wellness and healthy communities.”
Lobach has a long history of service with WellSpan, including being a founding director of the York Health Foundation and time spent as the chair of the board of directors of WellSpan Health. He had been the vice chair of the York Health Foundation before being elevated to chair at the start of the year.
