From the very beginning, I knew Barley Snyder was a fantastic place to work. I started as a Summer Associate here. I am excited and honored to have been elected into the firm’s partnership, and I look forward to this next chapter in my legal career. The talented people I work with, the environment we work in, and the sophistication of work we do here at Barley Snyder are unrivaled in central Pennsylvania, and I cannot imagine working anywhere else.

Barley Snyder was instrumental in earning my law degree. Being in an accelerated program, I didn’t have time to find a placement as a summer associate, but I was grateful to find Barley as a home for my Semester in Practice. Even though they had never had an intern for law school credit before me, they went above and beyond in their efforts to make my experience worthwhile, and my education was very much enriched by my time as a Barley extern. Being offered the opportunity to come back after graduation was the icing on the cake, and I didn’t hesitate to accept!”

The commitment Barley Snyder gives to summer associates is immense — and the reason I’m employed here today as an associate. The firm is dedicated to ensure that summer associates experience the whole practice — from a real estate closing to a litigation judicial hearing to a merger and acquisition. In law school, there’s little emphasis during the first two years on practical legal applications, but Barley Snyder does not hesitate to give you the experience. It really helps you figure out what you want to practice and who you want to work with. I found an affinity for labor and employment law and greatly enjoyed working with the colleagues in that space. Sure enough, that’s my current practice here and I’ve been given ample opportunity and resources to grow.

I chose Barley Snyder because of its incredible culture and commitment to the community. While looking for a summer associate position, my goal was to find a firm that shared my values and would invest the same time and energy into me as I was willing to give to the firm. I found that and more at Barley. During my summer with Barley, I was tasked with value-adding work that reinvigorated my desire to become an attorney and help others. Every single person I worked with was always willing to answer questions, introduce me to new opportunities, and share their time and talent with me. I am thrilled to be launching my legal career at such a great firm.

Being a summer associate at Barley Snyder was a phenomenal experience. I worked with over 13 different attorneys spanning immigration, real estate, trade secrets, employment, and securities. The attorneys involved me in matters of discovery and drafting memorandums of law as well as allowed me to draft a client alert with one of the firm’s partners. They involved me in routine marketing and practice group meetings to introduce me to the pragmatic aspects of how the firm operates as a thriving business. Barley Snyder provides a wonderful work culture. Every attorney and staff member I worked with treated me with respect and kindness, and I felt nurtured and supported in each assignment I received.
